Definitions:

  • A large swivel-musket or wall-piece used in the East by the natives. It is fired from a rest and is sometimes mounted on a carriage. The Chinese use jingals extensively.
  • A small portable piece of ordnance, mounted on a swivel.
  • A type of <xref>gun</xref>, usually a light piece mounted on a <xref>swivel</xref>, sometimes taking the form of a heavy <xref>musket</xref> fired from a <xref>rest</xref>.
